M: I have fedora Linux and an Adobe Premiere project file from 2012. Suggestions on how I might possibly open it?
G: TL;DR: You
can't open .prproj files natively on Fedora. Your options
are:
How:
No tool fully reads .prproj, but you can try:
pproj2afdr: Converts Premiere XML to
DaVinci Resolve AAF/XML (outdated, limited support)..prproj is an
XML file, open it with a text editor and manually extract media paths or
sequences for rebuilding. If you just want the timeline back:
.prproj in a text editor.Best path forward: Open in Premiere CS6/CC 2013 on Windows (even in a VM), export to XML or AAF, and import into Resolve or Kdenlive.
Let me know if you'd like help setting up a VM or finding an old version of Premiere.
